Clients were able to get self help for most problems. Leveraged procmail for Unix to automate customer service at a time when not many companies were providing self-help systems to customers.
After cleaning up Billing, I was put in charge of fixing the Tech Support email issues as well. In addition to these responsibilities I provided third level phone technical support to end users, and was part of a team that would save customers who were about to leave. - |

During a 4 month period I created all the purchase orders for the Manhattan store, and Long Island warehouse. I would also make sure there wasn't extra inventory in either the warehouse or store. This position expanded my knowledge of Microsoft Excel and using Macros to calculate data.

Assisted 10 mentally ill and/or mentally retarded adults to better integrate into daily life. The goal of the house is that eventually a resident will move out of the house, and live on their own. Responsible for group activities, ensuring food is in the house, medical trips, encouraging residents to stay on medication, being there to listen to their needs or problems, and to be a supportive friend. This position taught me how to deal with situations that were physically and emotionally difficult. Skills learned here I have used on Ambulances and Rescue to deal with individuals under stress.
